Football Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 win over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Dominant Display Wins Contest

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 following conceding a safety in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 total net yards during the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes remaining.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to score a possible winning score. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

Fields had difficulties all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," the coach stated after the contest.
